Southern Earth Sciences moves into Mobile Commerce Park
MOBILE, Alabama — Local engineering firm Southern Earth Sciences Inc. has recently moved into the Mobile Commerce Park.
The company signed a five-year lease for the 15,000-square-foot building, which will serve as its Mobile branch office. It is located on Rangeline Road next to building restoration company The Lathan Co.
Claudia Zimmermann, director of economic development for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, said Southern Earth Sciences consolidated equipment and employees from three separate offices into the commerce park building.
“We are really excited to have them in the park, as it’s the kind of company that’s perfect for it,” Zimmermann said. “It’s a reaffirmation that access to the park is one of the main reasons companies are choosing to locate there.”
The chamber oversees the business/light industrial park located off I-10 in Theodore, which currently hosts 12 companies and has about 70 remaining undeveloped acres.
Southern Earth Sciences, which has about 150 employees throughout the Southeast, has 40 employees and all of its engineering and testing equipment at the Mobile Commerce Park office. The company also has 10 additional employees at its corporate office off of Downtowner Boulevard.
