Matt joined Southern Earth Sciences, Inc. (SES) in May 2005 upon completion of his Civil Engineering degree at the University of South Alabama in 2004. Matt has served as a Project Engineer, Geotechnical Department Manager, and in 2017 was appointed as Regional Manager (Alabama/Mississippi) and a Vice President of the Company.  

Matt provides principal oversight and coordination of field investigations and geotechnical engineering efforts as well as performing design services and developing geotechnical recommendations for diverse projects across the southeast.  He has served as the Geotechnical Engineer of Record for hundreds of projects from small commercial ventures for private entities to large-scale industrial and governmental complexes.

Matt maintains active licenses in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), a Geotechnical Committee Member of the Geoprofessional Business Associates (GBA), a member of the Mobile Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and is part of the AGC Construction Leadership Council (CLC) for which he served as chair in 2013. Matt was also selected as the 2023 Mobile Area Council of Engineers (MACE) Engineering Manager of the Year.
